I can still recall the damage inflicted to my pocket when i did THIS not long time ago. Now let’s talk about the achievement i made so far with the purchase. Do i manage to read all the material cover to cover or is it being a dust collector somewhere in my room? According to this site, it have been at least 44 days/6 weeks since i left home. Let’s see how i fare this time. The verdict is as below:

1) Icon – Steve Jobs – DONE READING
2) Ideaspotting – DONE READING. WILL READ IT OVER AND OVER AGAIN AS CREATIVITY TRIGGER POINT
3) Freakonomics – HALF-WAY THRU
4) Confession of An Economic Hitman – HALF-WAY THRU
5) Assassination of Robert Maxwell – UNWRAP STILL
6) Kingdom in Crisis – DONE READING. SCARY!
7) Einstein Never Used Flash Card – UNWRAP STILL
8) Emergenetics – OPENED, FLIP IT THRU AS REFERENCE
9) Advanced Images (magazine) – DONE READING. OH, I LEFT IT BACK HOME.
10) Hypertune (magazine) - DONE READING. SITTING DEARLY BACK AT HOME.

Well, not bad i suppose, 44 days living my own life, handling chore during the days, balancing my nights and weekend by reading books. I can say that time well spent. 3 medium-thick books in 44 days, i should be proud of myself. Why? some people can’t even manage to complete reading a book even if you give them a whole time the world can offer.

Now Reading: Emergenetics / Freakonomics / Confessions of an Economic Hitman (yeah, i’m doing this in parallel)

Next up:  Einstein Never Used Flash Card / Assasination of Robert Maxwell (in parallel too)

I need to read all up before i heading back home.

the-7-hidden-reasons-employees-leave.jpg

It’s like an epiphany hitting on me when 2 incidents coming right after each other. First, when my brother decided to throw the towel early. Second, when i came across with an awesome book by Leigh Branham titled ‘The 7 Hidden Reasons Employees’. Branham is an employee-retention expert (it’s nice expertise that he got) who has treading with this issue for a very long time. Using an enormous volume of interviews and survey data, it arrived to a conclusion that, whenever an employee decide to leave a company, it will be triggered by any of the 7 hidden reasons. The reasons are:

#1: The Job or Workplace Was Not as Expected

#2: The Mismatch Between Job and Person

#3: Too Little Coaching and Feedback

#4: Too Few Growth and Advancement Opportunities

#5: Feeling Devalued And Unrecognized

#6: Stress From Overwork and Work-Life Imbalance

#7: Loss of Trust and Confidence in Senior Leaders
